Educational Events

The Dr. Jesse R. Peel LGBTQ Center leads campus participation in nationally recognized events such as:

• National Coming Out Day
• “Y’all Means All” (a national ally campaign)
• Bi & Proud (Bisexual Awareness)
• Understanding Asexuality (Asexual Awareness)
• Transgender Day of Remembrance
• World AIDS Day
• Transgender Day of Visibility
• Lavender Launch (a celebration of our LGBTQ and ally graduates)

These events complement a regular film and speaker series and play an integral role in meeting the ongoing need for education and awareness of LGBTQ issues on campus and in society at large, as well as raising the visibility of the Peel LGBTQ Center on campus and in the community.
